本月21任日，洛杉矶的一名华人导游季富力先生（Jeffary Ji）带团去赌城拉斯维加斯，在凯撒宫（Caesars Palace）赌场员工停车场附近，遭遇一名非洲裔劫匪，身中数枪遇害。

据美中旅游协会会长许承武先生介绍，季先生是辽宁丹东人，现年53 岁，家住洛杉矶，最小的儿子才3 岁，职业是一名自由导游， 是美中旅游协会会员，经常为不同旅行社带团去赌城等地，这次也是带团去赌城拉斯维加斯，未料遭遇抢劫遇害。
据一位冯姓导游22 日表示， 案发时季先生一个人在一辆深色的中巴旅游车上，等候去凯撒酒店购物中心买东西的客人，停车在命案现场，当时他在车上传短信给旅馆等他的太太，季太太收到最后一句话是“唉呀，不好了！”之后通讯中断。
许承武会长说，在他亲自前往现场去直接与警方沟通之前，并不能非常详细地阐述案情细节，包括有没有搏斗，当时的具体情况等。目前掌握的案情大致是遭到抢劫。“我们当地的华人组织已经在案发现场为季导游摆下祭奠的场地，按照咱们华人的传统，很重视头七，我们一直都会有人轮流去祭拜季先生。”对于事件的发生，许会长表示华人社团组织已经在积极行动，一方面协助家属安排后事，一方面要与当地警方沟通，与律师沟通， 追求刑事案件处理的同时，追求民事责任。“季导游被杀害在凯撒宫停车场附近，凯撒宫是否存在管理上的问题。这些我们到现场后，都会与相关人士进行探究。”
另据拉斯维加斯FOX5 号电视台报道，拉斯维加斯大都会警察局正在调查该起谋杀案，惨剧发生在在凯撒宫赌场后面的街道Jay Sarno Way，正好在Frank Sinatra Drive 旁边，案发时间为周五深夜11 时25 分。警方说，遇害男子当场死亡。有证人引导警方追捕凶嫌，嫌犯逃到凯撒宫停车场时被及时赶到现场的警员捕获。目前案情仍在调查中。

Charles Smith, identified as the suspect in a fatal shooting in a parking garage near Caesars Palace 10/21/16 (LVMPD) Metro detectives are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred late Friday night on the Strip.
A man was shot and killed about 11:25 p.m. on Jay Sarno Way near the Caesars Palace employee parking garage.
Arriving officers found an adult male near a van parked in the parking garage, suffering from apparent multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene by arriving medical personnel.
Witnesses reported the suspect ran into the garage. Arriving officers were directed to the second floor of the parking garage where they located the suspect, identified as 27-year-old Charles Smith of Las Vegas, and put him into custody.
"The shooting occurred outside one of our parking garages located near the intersection of Jay Sarno Way and Frank Sinatra. We are working closely with Metro officers as they continue their investigation. All streets surrounding the area have reopened and access to the property is not impacted," stated Caesars spokesman Rich Broome in an email to News 3.
The investigation initiated by LVMPD's Homicide Section indicates the incident took place outside the van, which was parked for at least a couple of hours before the shooting took place.
Smith was arrested and transported to Clark County Detention Center where he faces one count of murder with use of a deadly weapon.
This is the 138th homicide investigated in Metro's jurisdiction in 2016.
The victim's identity will be released by the Clark County Coroner's Office pending next-of-kin notification.
