我们的印象中，似乎小中人人SAT能过2300。坛子里传说，目测某牛高中有一半孩子SAT一次过2300。

SAT2300是神马概念？一个字：牛。两个字：牛B。

SAT2237已经是前1.5%了，SAT2300更是千里挑一【3】。

每个学校有多少孩子能够考到2300？要想知道千分之一，可以先看看百分之一的孩子摊到每个牛高中有多少。

高三学生会参加PSAT考试，前1%进 National Merit Scholar 半决赛，而半决赛的绝大部分，会进入决赛拿到  National Merit Scholar（NMS）， 。

每个学校NMS有多少？看看加州好学校如Palo Alto 学区的两个牛校：

Gunn High School 33

Palo Alto High School 25【1】

过百分之一线的孩子，一个四百人的牛校也就是二三十个，6%而已。过千分之一线的孩子，能有一半？

如果说补习班出来的孩子，只会考SAT，不会考PSAT，不管你信不信，反正我是信了的没有。

PSAT与SAT如何换算？看下面这几个华人聚集州2015年的PSAT线和预测的SAT分数 【2】

以加州为例：从PSAT线，推测SAT成绩，前两项是1487，三项是1487×3/2=2230分。

再拿漂亮丫头（Palo Alto）高中为例，也就是说，大概有25/400人SAT能过2230分。

即使加州SAT补习给力，也不会从25个预估SAT2230的孩子，变成200个SAT2300孩子。

再算总数，全国一共有一万五千个NMS，摊到每个学校就这么点。即使SAT一年可以考多次，再算superscore，SAT过2300的，2014年全年全世界也就一共不到九千个，摊到每个美国学校又能有多少？【4】。

这样推算，最好的学校，也就是不到10%的学生，能过2300。

各位老师给我看看，我到底哪里算错了？这一半SAT过2300的孩子，我暂时就先当做树新锋（tree new bee）处理着。

总之，2300牛娃，比想象的更牛，1800娃，也熊不到哪里去，熊娃家长安啦。
