4个月大的蒂根出生时，只有半个心和一边肺，需要进行修补手术。迈亚密的心脏科专家伯克医生准备做手术当天，医院的3-D打印机却坏了。时间一分一秒地过，穆尼兹医生灵机一触，利用3-D打印平台Sketchfab把蒂根的心肺影像下载至手机，再以谷歌虚拟实景卡纸眼镜观看，便可看到3-D影像。
伯克医生说，这是他首次接触谷歌虚拟实景卡纸眼镜，以此观看Sketchfab的影像和电脑断层 （CT）和磁力共振（MRI）扫瞄片，蒂根的心肺结构便清楚呈现眼前，令手术做得很顺利。
蒂根目前仍在氧气箱，但身体越来越强壮。至于伯克医生，仍对这种简单玩具带来的医学突破感到惊讶不已。
